One day I followed a sign pointing up a flight of stairs in an old button shop in an old house in an historic downtown.  The sign said simply "beads."  At the top of the stairs I discovered a small room with only a few trays of beads for sale.  All were vintage, all were unlike any I'd ever seen, and all were beautiful.  I admired, but I was afraid to touch.  Behind the counter was a teenage girl making a bracelet.  She asked me if I beaded.  I told her that I would love to learn, but I was a bit intimidated and had no idea where to start.  With a sweet smile she pulled a second stool up beside her, and half an hour later I had beaded my first bracelet.

That was six years ago, and I now have more beads in my studio than that entire shop had for sale; and I'm selling my jewelry in a gallery at the top of the stairs in an old shop in an historic downtown.

It would be my pleasure to bead something for you.
