The Howard Gallery is owned and operated by Jan Howard Haga. The gallery was established as a small do-it-yourself frame shop in 1979 at the same location in Myrtle Beach where it is today. In 1986, the shop underwent a transformation. The focus now is on custom framing and showing the artwork of local artists.
The staff at The Howard Gallery offers expert advice in purchasing art for business, corporate and individual clients. Because of the staff's close relationship with many local artists, they are able to offer a wide variety of artwork in order to find just the right pieces to fit their client's needs. Jan Haga is available to work either face-to-face with the client or with the client's designer in the purchasing of artwork.
Jan Haga has been framing the artwork of Myrtle Beach for almost thirty years. Her artistic talent as a framer is evident in all her work. No job is too small and very few jobs are too large.
The Howard Gallery prides itself on the diversity of its frames and framing methods. All framing is done in house. There is a large selection of molding in stock and hundreds of moldings that can be ordered in on short notice.
All facets of matting and the skill involved in cutting mats is another area where Jan Haga and her staff excel. The Howard Gallery has over 150 mats in stock, and hundreds more that can be ordered for timely delivery. The "things" Jan and her staff can do to mats include multiple openings, multiple mats, mats with filets and of course specialty design cuts. The "kinds" of mats available include, but are not limited to, silk, suede, linen and other specialty mat types and textures.
